A funnel is essentially a series of landing pages, one after another.
When someone lands on your first step of the funnel, that refers to them being on the first landing page in the funnel.
After completing an action you want your customer to take on the first landing page (for example signing up to your mailing list), you then direct them to the next step of the funnel, which is another landing page, and this can continue until you reach the end of the funnel.
A funnel can be as simple as an optin page plus a thank you page, this would be the most basic form a funnel.
Or it can be as complex as an opt-in form, to a sales page, to an upsell page, to another upsell, and finally to a thank you page.
Why should you use a funnel?
The general GOAL of a funnel is to increase the average order value of the order using upsells.
How you do this is by asking the customer to make a micro-commitment, and then using that micro-commitment to inspire further action.
For example, with McDonald's you might buy a burger, but since you've already made the micro-commitment to buy the burger, it's also very likely that you'll be upsold to some fries.
Or if you buy popcorn at the movie theaters, you might get upsold to a larger size of popcorn for a dollar more.
Upsells work because your customer has already committed to buying from you, so each additional commitment is generally easier to get.
Hyax lets you set-up upsells very easily!
Maybe you start with a product that's free or very cheap, but then once they've handed over the credit card, you can upsell them to a much more expensive product.
Or maybe you sell them an expensive product, but then tell them about a supplementary product that is going to make their experience a lot better.
We give you the power to set these up very easily inside Hyax!
